The Journal of Agronomy Research invites field-relevant research on crops, soils and agricultural production systems where methods are transparent and conclusions remain proportionate to the evidence.
No closing date or guaranteed review timeline is stated for this general call. Special Issue opportunities are reported separately.

These priorities focus the general call without replacing the authoritative Aims & Scope page. They are not quotas and do not guarantee external review.
Crop performance under stress
Field or production-relevant evidence on drought, heat, salinity, nutrient limitation, pests or interacting stresses, with appropriate environmental context.
Soil fertility and nutrient efficiency
Soil processes, amendments, nutrient management and crop response supported by suitable controls, baseline soil information and measured outcomes.
Integrated crop protection
Pest, disease and weed management evaluated for efficacy, resistance, non-target effects, production relevance and responsible use.
Water and irrigation management
Water-use efficiency, irrigation scheduling, deficit strategies, drainage or water harvesting linked to crop and system performance.
Cultivar and genotype performance
Breeding, physiology or genetic evidence connected to agronomic traits, environments and realistic production outcomes.
Precision and resilient systems
Remote sensing, models, machinery or decision support validated against agronomic measurements and an identifiable management decision.

- Appropriate controls, replication, sampling and statistical model
- Transparent treatment, measurement and analysis methods

- Purely clinical, medical or nutrition work
- Basic molecular or laboratory work without an agronomic outcome
- Generic environmental or engineering studies without crop, soil or production relevance
- Descriptive surveys without a defensible research question
- Commercial product promotion or unsupported superiority claims
- Manuscripts lacking adequate methods or measurable outcomes
